Al-Arada Receives Defense Minister, Chairs Meeting of Ministry Leadership and Armed Forces Command

Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Sultan al-Arada received Thursday Defense Minister Lieutenant General Taher al-Aqili to discuss developments in the military and security situation, as well as the Ministry of Defense’s efforts to enhance combat readiness and improve the institutional performance of the Armed Forces across various fronts and fields.

Following the meeting, the member of the Presidential Leadership Council chaired an expanded military meeting that included the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, several heads of military authorities, directors of military departments and a number of military commanders.

The meeting discussed field developments, the level of implementation of military plans and programs, the key challenges facing the military institution, and ways to address them.

During the meeting, al-Arada received briefings on the progress of work across various military authorities and departments, the level of combat readiness of the Armed Forces, and efforts in the areas of training, qualification, armament, and logistical support. The discussions also covered plans aimed at developing institutional performance and enhancing the efficiency of military units to enable them to carry out their assigned national duties.

The member of the Presidential Leadership Council stressed the importance of continuing efforts to raise the level of discipline and combat readiness, and to strengthen coordination and integration among the various components of the military institution in a manner that contributes to consolidating security and stability and protecting national principles and achievements.

He also emphasized the need to intensify efforts in training, qualification, and capacity-building, as well as to develop administrative and technical performance in line with the requirements of the current phase and the challenges facing the country. He noted that the military institution represents the fundamental pillar for protecting the nation and defending its sovereignty, unity, security, and stability.

He further affirmed the support of the political leadership, represented by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, for the Armed Forces and all efforts aimed at strengthening their capabilities and enabling them to perform their national duties efficiently and effectively.

For his part, the Minister of Defense expressed his appreciation for the attention given by the political leadership, represented by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed al-Alimi, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces in following up the conditions of the Armed Forces across all areas.

He also expressed his gratitude for the efforts made by Presidential Leadership Council member Sultan Al-Eryani to enhance readiness and support the military institution, affirming the continuation of work with a sense of national responsibility and the implementation of assigned duties and tasks in a way that serves the country’s security and stability and preserves its supreme interests.
