RIYADH – SABA
Minister of Information Muammar al-Eryani met Tuesday with the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to Yemen Shao Zheng.
He discussed with him bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and ways to enhance joint cooperation.
During the meeting, al-Eryani affirmed that Yemen’s stability represents a shared interest for Yemen, China, and the global economy.
He noted that attacks targeting international maritime navigation not only harm Yemen and the region but also have negative repercussions on global trade flows and international supply chains.
The minister reviewed the government’s economic reform program, efforts to enhance transparency, and measures to combat corruption, which are being implemented under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Shaya Zindani, in coordination and integration with the Presidential Leadership Council, headed by President Dr. Rashad Mohammed al-Alimi and the council’s members.
Al-Eryani emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing accumulated challenges and strengthening partnerships with the international community in a manner that contributes to stability and sustainable development.
The minister praised the sincere fraternal support and continued assistance provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Yemen, stressing that this support has served as a key pillar in maintaining economic and service stability and preventing the country from sliding into more complex circumstances.
He said the assistance reflects the depth of the historic and fraternal ties between the two countries and their peoples.
He also highlighted the longstanding historical relations between Yemen and China, expressing anticipation of celebrating, in the coming months, the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
He described the occasion as an important milestone for expanding cooperation across various fields.
For his part, the Chinese Chargé d’Affaires reaffirmed China’s support for Yemen’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, as well as Beijing’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and supporting efforts to achieve security, stability, and peace.
