Saudi Program Highlights Development Projects in Yemen at 2026 Annual Meetings of Islamic Development Bank in Baku
[17/06/2026 07:45]

BAKU – SABA
The Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen showcased its development experience in Yemen during the 2026 Annual Meetings of the Islamic Development Bank Group, held in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku, from June 16 to 19, 2026, under the theme: "Regional Integration: A Catalyst for Sustainable Prosperity.”

The participation of the Saudi Program highlighted the sustainable development projects and initiatives it has implemented, which have contributed to supporting basic services, improving daily life, enhancing infrastructure, and promoting development, stability, and economic recovery in the sister Republic of Yemen.

During his participation in the session titled “Addressing Fragility and Building Resilience in Fragile and Conflict-Affected Contexts,” Assistant Supervisor General for Institutional Relations Abdullah bin Kaddasah stated that the program works in close cooperation with the Yemeni government and local authorities, in partnership with civil society organizations, UN, international and regional organizations, and the private sector, ensuring continuity of impact and sustainability of outcomes.

He emphasized that the program’s development experience has demonstrated that proximity to beneficiaries and an understanding of realities on the ground, through the program’s five offices distributed across Yemeni governorates, have contributed to designing more effective interventions that respond to actual needs.

He added that achieving tangible development results requires building broad partnerships, as demonstrated by the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen’s existing partnerships with international and regional institutions, including the Islamic Development Bank, the World Bank, the United Nations Development Programme, and other development organizations.
