President al-Alimi Reviews Circumstances of Aden Shooting Incident, Directs Completion of Investigations

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, held a telephone call Friday with Minister of State, the Governor of Aden, Abdulrahman Sheikh during which he was briefed on preliminary information regarding the shooting incident that occurred near the governor’s residence, resulting in a number of deaths and injuries.

The President received from the Governor of the temporary capital a briefing on the measures taken by security authorities from the first moments of the incident, including their rapid response to contain the situation, pursue the perpetrator, and deal with him immediately.

He praised the efforts of the local authority’s leadership in responding swiftly to various developments in the governorate, as well as the high level of readiness demonstrated by all security units and agencies.

He commended their courage and discipline in carrying out their duties, including the sacrifices made by their personnel in the interest of protecting citizens and maintaining public order.

He affirmed that this professional spirit reflects the growing efficiency of local authority institutions and security agencies, as well as their ability to fulfill their responsibilities in maintaining security and stability and enforcing the rule of law.

President al-Alimi directed that investigations into the incident be completed, all circumstances surrounding it be uncovered and the necessary legal measures be taken against anyone proven to have been negligent or responsible.

The President also directed that full medical care be provided to the injured, including transferring cases requiring treatment abroad due to their health conditions, and honoring the martyrs from the armed forces and security agencies who lost their lives while performing their national duty, in recognition of their sacrifices and dedication in serving the country.

The President was also briefed on the latest developments regarding the measures taken following the explosion that occurred at one of the ammunition storage facilities in the temporary capital Aden, which resulted in deaths and injuries.

He directed the completion of technical and legal investigations, the implementation of measures to prevent similar incidents from occurring again, the continuation of medical care for the injured, and support for the families of the victims.

He also expressed appreciation for the heroic roles carried out by members of the armed forces, security agencies, civil defense teams, and all field personnel who contributed to containing the fire and limiting its effects, as well as for the sacrifices and courage they demonstrated while carrying out their duties.

The President affirmed that state institutions will continue to carry out their responsibilities with a high level of commitment to protecting citizens, safeguarding security and stability, and strengthening public safety measures.

He stressed that the professional and rapid handling of various incidents reflects the continuous improvement in the readiness of state institutions and their ability to respond to emergencies under different circumstances.

The Chairman of the Council, on behalf of himself, the Council members and the government, expressed his sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to the families of the killed and victims of both incidents, praying to Almighty God to grant them His vast mercy and forgiveness, to bless the injured with a speedy recovery, and to protect Yemen and its people from all harm and misfortune.
