Minister of Education Discusses Strengthening Educational Cooperation with Russian Ambassador

Minister of Education Dr. Adel al-Abadi met Wednesday with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Yemen Dr. Yevgeny Kudrov, discussing with him issues of mutual interest and ways to enhance cooperation between the two friendly countries.

The meeting reviewed the state of education in Yemen and the challenges facing the educational process under the current circumstances.

The discussions also covered the security and economic situation and their impact on development and stability in the country.

Al-Abadi explained that Yemen is in urgent need of achieving lasting peace and security, as well as economic stability, in order to overcome the effects of the war, which has negatively affected various vital sectors, particularly the education sector.

The Minister emphasized that the Russian Federation has been among the first countries to support Yemen in various fields, especially in education.

He expressed his hope for the continuation and strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries in a manner that serves the shared interests of their friendly peoples.

For his part, the Russian Ambassador reaffirmed his country's commitment to supporting efforts to achieve comprehensive peace in Yemen.

He also noted Russia’s interest in supporting the education sector and providing additional scholarships for Yemeni students to study in Russian universities.
