The Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) held a meeting today, Tuesday, chaired by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Council. All the PLC's members were in the attendance: Abdulrahman al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, Othman Mujalli and Mahmoud al-Subaihi, and via video call: Sultan al-Aradah, Tariq Saleh and Salem al-Khanbashi.

The meeting discussed the developments in the national arena and the time-lined matrix of reforms, including doubling the government's efforts to improve living conditions, basic services, boosting the presence of state institutions and establishing security and stability in the country.

The Chairman of the PLC briefed the meeting on the outcomes of his visit to the Republic of Djibouti and his fruitful discussions with the President of the Republic of Djibou Ismaïl Guelleh and the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia Hassan Mohamud about bilateral relations and the issues of common interest amid the rise in smuggling and organized crime activities, the collaboration between cross-border armed groups and the growing international concerns about the security of international navigation in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

The PLC praised the results of the visit in re-establishing the Yemeni presence in the Red Sea and the Horn of Africa equation, and emphasized collective responsibility and effective regional coordination in facing common threats, mainly the efforts to secure international shipping routes and to combat terrorism, smuggling, and organized crime.

The meeting also addressed the security developments in the government-held governorates, including the heinous assassination crimes that took place in the temporary capital Aden, in a desperate attempt to disturb the security and undermine confidence in national and international institutions.

The PLC praised the efforts of the security services in pursuing terrorist elements, thwarting their criminal plans, apprehending those involved and establishing security and stability, underlining the tangible improvement in integrated coordination between state agencies following the steps to unify military and security decision-making backed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The PLC reiterated the state's commitment to continue combating terrorism, improving institutional protection for key facilities and programs, ensuring the protection of citizens, relief workers, and the business community.

The meeting also touched upon regional developments, including the continuation of the Iranian regime's hostile attacks on the countries of the region, to confirm the continuation of its approach based on blackmail, managing chaos and undermining regional and international security and stability.

The PLC reaffirmed the Republic of Yemen's condemnation of the blatant Iranian attacks and threats targeting civilian and economic facilities in the State of Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Bahrain, in clear violation of the principles of international law and the rules of regional security and stability.
