Aden Governor Commends ICRC Humanitarian Efforts

Minister of State and Aden Governor Abdulrahman Sheikh has commended the humanitarian and relief efforts undertaken by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in recent years.

During a meeting on Sunday with Head of the ICRC Mission in Aden, Amira Kedier, the two sides discussed ways to improve basic services for residents through sustainable development projects.

They also reviewed the situation in Aden and the efforts being made by the local authority leadership, as well as the role international organizations can play in supporting those efforts.

Governor Sheikh stressed the importance of shifting from emergency assistance to development-focused interventions that directly address citizens’ needs and contribute to improving essential services.

He further noted that the success of projects funded by international partners depends on their alignment with the priorities and actual needs of the local community.
