Leadership Council Chairman Attends Djiboutian President’s Inauguration Ceremony

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, accompanied by Council member Lieutenant General Mahmoud Al-Subaihi, arrived on Saturday in the Djiboutian capital to take part in the inauguration ceremony of his brother, His Excellency President Ismail Omar Guelleh, following his re-election as President of the Republic of Djibouti.

Upon arrival at Djibouti International Airport, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council and his accompanying delegation were received by Djiboutian Prime Minister Abdoulkader Kamil Mohamed, Yemen’s Ambassador to Djibouti Abdullah Al-Saqqaf, and members of the Yemeni diplomatic mission.

A source at the Presidential Office told Saba News Agency that the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council will participate alongside a number of leaders and representatives of brotherly and friendly countries in the inauguration ceremony of President Ismail Omar Guelleh, who was re-elected for a new presidential term after winning the confidence of the Djiboutian people.

The source added that, on the sidelines of the visit, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council will hold talks on bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as developments in Yemen and the region.

The discussions will also focus on building upon Djibouti’s active role in promoting regional security and supporting peace efforts in the Horn of Africa.

The source commended the deep-rooted Yemeni-Djiboutian relations, anchored in geography, history, and shared interests, highlighting their promising prospects across various fields.

It also praised the care and facilitation provided by the Government of Djibouti to the Yemeni community, noting Djibouti’s vital role as a humanitarian gateway for Yemenis, particularly under the exceptional circumstances created by the war sparked by the Houthi terrorist militias backed by the Iranian regime.
