The Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism Dr. Hussein Basalim held talks today, in the temporary capital Aden, with the Swiss Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Dr. Thomas Oertle over bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the fields of supporting antiquities and museums and developing the tourism sector.

Basalim highlighted Yemen's need for the Swiss assistance to help the Yemeni government to protect the cultural heritage and to promote tourist businesses.

Basalim sought for a cooperative agreement with the Switzerland about the protection of the Yemeni artifacts to help the Yemeni government to retrieve the Yemeni antiquities which have been stolen and trafficked abroad.
