Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Qasem Buhaibeh has hailed the successful completion of the first three liver transplant surgeries in Taiz, describing the breakthrough as a major step forward for Yemen’s specialized healthcare services.
The procedures were carried out at the Cardiac and Vascular Center and Kidney Transplant Unit in Taiz, marking a significant milestone for local medical teams working under challenging conditions.
In a statement to Saba, Dr. Buhaibeh said the achievement goes beyond saving the lives of the patients involved, noting that it opens the door to establishing organ transplant procedures in the country and reducing the need for costly treatment abroad
