The Speaker of the Parliament Sheikh Sultan al-Barakani highly praised the constant support of the European Union (EU) for the Yemeni people, deeply appreciating its humanitarian and development interventions all over the Yemeni regions.

"EU's humanitarian and development interventions are very helpful, greatly valued", he said.
He voiced gratitude to the EU for its significant contribution to the humanitarian and development actions in Yemen on a phone call he made today, Thursday, with the EU Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Patrick Simonnet who paid a visit to Taiz governorate this week, during which he toured several districts.

Al-Barakani described Mr. Simonnet's visit to Taiz as very important to get firsthand information about the humanitarian and development challenges in the governorate.
