Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Qassem Buhaybeh launched Wednesday the distribution of six shipments of essential medicines along with medical equipment and supplies.
The shipments were provided by the organization “PureHands” as part of efforts to support the health sector and enhance its ability to meet the needs of citizens in the liberated governorates.
During the launch, Minister Buhaybeh explained that the shipments will be distributed according to a plan prepared by the ministry through the National Drug Supply Program, ensuring their delivery to 30 hospitals and health centers across ten liberated governorates, based on each governorate’s priorities and actual needs.
He emphasized that this assistance reflects the strong and ongoing partnership between the ministry and PureHands, noting that cooperation between the two sides over recent years has supported many health and humanitarian programs and helped alleviate the suffering of patients amid the exceptional circumstances the country is facing.
In the same context, the Minister of Health discussed with the head of PureHands, Dr. Mohammed al-Hajjaji ways to expand the organization’s interventions in the health sector.
Dr. al-Hajjaji affirmed the organization’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with the Ministry of Health and continuing to implement its humanitarian programs in a way that meets patients’ needs and supports the healthcare system.
He also indicated that the organization is working on developing new visions and initiatives to enhance response in vital sectors, including organizing an international donors’ conference.
This conference will present a comprehensive matrix of needs in the health, education and water sectors, contributing to mobilizing international support and directing it toward humanitarian and development priorities in Yemen.
