His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) held today, Tuesday, a small government meeting included the governors of the government-held governorates, the Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Shaya Zindani and the Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen (CBY) Ahmed Ghaleb.

The meeting devoted to discuss national developments, mechanisms for coordination between the government and local authorities to improve living conditions, basic services, and to enhance the presence of state institutions at all levels.

The Prime Minister, Governor of the CBY, Finance Minister and the governors reported about the overall situations in the national arena, the government's performance over the previous period, the course of the comprehensive reforms, the indicators of the economic and financial performance and the indicators of economic and financial performance and the approved plans for managing, developing, and controlling sovereign and local revenues, and spending efficiency, and directing them towards the main priorities.

The meeting underscored the importance of going on implementing the economic, financial, and administrative reform program, improving the performance of revenue agencies and promoting the principles of governance, transparency and anti-corruption, while giving priority to improving basic services, especially in the fields of electricity, water, roads, health, and education.

The meeting emphasized the importance of coordinating efforts between local authorities and relevant central bodies to ensure security and stability, combat smuggling and illegal immigration.

All government bodies and institutions are urged to strictly carry out the PLC's decisions, particularly is Decision No. (11) of 2025, including supplying all resources to the government’s general account, closing any accounts outside the CBY and submitting periodic reports on entities that fail to comply with the law.

The meeting also approved the continued closure of unlicensed ports and entry points until standards and legal requirements are met, and stressed the coordination of efforts to combat terrorist financing, smuggling, and organized crime.

The Ministries of Electricity, Oil, Finance and the relevant authorities are tasked with working on preparing a plan to ensure the provision of fuel for power plants in preparation for the coming summer season.

The Chairman of the PLC praised the progress made in the reforms program, starting with the preparation of the general budget, setting the priorities of the government program, the establishment and activation of vital institutions such as the Injuries Authority and the Health Fund.

The President also applauded the harmony between the government and local authorities, describing it as the main avenue for creating the model in the government-held governorates.

President al-Alimi highly praised the fraternal support provided to the Yemeni government and people by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, greatly valued the Kingdom active contribution in alleviating the suffering of citizens, strengthening resilience, and maintaining the cohesion of state institutions amid current difficult circumstances.
