The Member of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) Lieutenant General Mahmoud al-Subaihi received today, Monday, at Maashiq Palace in the temporary capital Aden, the Vice President of the World Bank (WB) for the Middle East and North Africa Osman Dione and his accompanying delegation.
They conferred over joint cooperation partnership and the ways to further expand the scope of development support in line with national recovery plans.
They also discussed the WB’s project portfolio for the year 2026 and the shift towards sustainable development.
Al-Subaihi highlighted the need to focus on crucial sectors, mainly health, education, water and energy, as well as creating job opportunities for youth and enhancing women's economic participation, and gradually transitioning from emergency humanitarian interventions to long-term sustainable development projects.
The Vice President of the WB confirmed the Bank's commitment to supporting national institutions and improving resource management.
