The Minister of Water and Environment, Engineer Tawfiq al-Sharjabi discussed Sunday with the Program Advisor at the United Nations Office for Project Services Khaldoun Saleh ways to enhance the existing partnership and ongoing projects in the water and sanitation sector.
The meeting reviewed the progress of current projects and mechanisms for their development in a way that contributes to improving water and environmental sanitation services, advancing stalled projects, and accelerating implementation.
It also emphasized the importance of joint coordination to identify priorities for upcoming projects and ensure the sustainability of services.
Minister al-Sharjabi stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation with UNOPS, highlighting the need to expand areas of partnership in line with the growing needs in the water and sanitation sector.
He affirmed the ministry’s commitment to enhancing collaboration with international partners to support the resilience of the sector.
For his part, the representative of UNOPS confirmed continued support for the water and sanitation sector, noting commitment to strengthening partnership with the Ministry of Water and Environment and implementing projects that help improve the level of services provided to citizens.
