ADEN-SABA
Minister of Information Muammar Al-Eryani said the seizure of an Iranian smuggling vessel carrying dual-use materials off the coast of Bab al-Mandab underscores the continued flow of support to the Houthi militia, despite mounting military pressure.
In a statement to Saba, Al-Eryani described the operation—carried out by the Second Giants Brigades under the command of Brig. Hamdi Shukri—as a precise and high-level mission reflecting strong operational readiness and advanced capabilities in surveillance, tracking, and interception in one of the region’s most sensitive maritime zones.
He stressed that the operation sends a clear message that Yemeni territorial waters are no longer vulnerable to Iranian smuggling activities, affirming a firm commitment to enforcing control and protecting international shipping lanes.
Al-Eryani noted that sustaining and expanding such operations is essential to disrupting smuggling networks, cutting supply routes, and reshaping the security landscape in Yemen and the wider region.
