Prime Minister Receives New WFP Country Director in Aden

Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Shaya Zindani received on Sunday in the temporary capital Aden the newly appointed Country Director of the World Food Programme (WFP) in Yemen, El Khidir Daloum.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed areas of joint cooperation between the government and the WFP to enhance the response to humanitarian needs and support food security efforts in Yemen.

At the outset of the meeting, the Prime Minister welcomed the new Country Director, wishing him success in carrying out his duties. He affirmed the government’s keenness to provide all necessary facilities to enable the WFP to carry out its humanitarian mission across various governorates, in a way that helps alleviate the suffering of citizens affected by the difficult humanitarian conditions.

The meeting also reviewed existing cooperation between the government and the WFP, and ways to further develop it and strengthen coordination to identify priority areas of need.
