The Member of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), Governor of Hadhramout governorate Salem al-Khanbashi praised the efforts of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and its recent interventions in Hadhramout in the fields of education, culture and cultural heritage protection.
His remark came during his meeting today, Thursday, with Salah Khaled, Director of the UNESCO Regional Office for the Gulf States and Yemen and Yemen's Ambassador to the UNESCO Dr. Mohammed Jumeih.
Al-Khanbashi highlighted the projects and programs that have contributed to supporting the educational process and preserving the cultural and historical heritage of the governorate, specifically the interventions aimed at protecting the historic homes of the city of Shibam and preserving its unique architectural landmarks.
