Member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Abdulrahman al-Muharrami met Tuesday with the French Ambassador to Yemen Catherine Corm-Kammoun.
The two parties discussed the latest developments on the national scene and ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, in a manner that serves efforts toward de-escalation and the normalization of conditions in various governorates.
Al-Muharrami praised the French position supporting economic and development reforms in Yemen, stressing the importance of strengthening partnership with the international community to protect waterways and international shipping lanes from the threats posed by the Houthi terrorist militias and extremist organizations that target the security and stability of the region.
He also commended the pivotal role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in leading efforts to reduce escalation, expressing appreciation for its good offices in containing recent developments and its constant commitment to prioritizing dialogue and consolidating the foundations of security and stability in the liberated governorates.
Al-Muharrami affirmed that reaching a fair and equitable solution to the Southern Issue through inclusive dialogue constitutes a fundamental pillar in supporting national efforts aimed at restoring state institutions and ending the Houthi coup.
He emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships with donors and international stakeholders to support reconstruction programs and improve basic services, in a way that has a tangible impact on citizens’ lives and the stability of their livelihoods.
For her part, the French Ambassador affirmed her country’s support for everything that serves security and stability in Yemen, reiterating France’s commitment to backing all political and humanitarian efforts aimed at achieving comprehensive peace.
