The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Dr. Shaya Zindani discussed today, Monday, during a phone call, with the British Minister of State for Middle East Affairs Hamish Falconer the latest developments in Yemen, mainly the recent developments in Hadhramaut and al-Mahra governorates.
The phone conversation covered the intensive efforts made to de-escalate the tensions caused by the South Transitional Council's unilateral military movements, President al-Alimi's call for South-South dialogue in Riyadh and the key role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to de-escalate and normalize situations in Hadramout and al-Mahra.
The British Minister of State confirmed the United Kingdom is closely following the developments in Yemen, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing the political track and de-escalation.
Mr. Falconer reaffirmed London's steadfast support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government's efforts to enhancing security and stability and supporting efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive and sustainable political solution in Yemen.
