Egypt renews firm position towards Yemen's unity, sovereignty, territorial integrity

The Arab Republic of Egypt has renewed its firm position in support of the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Yemen, as well as the necessity of preserving national state institutions and safeguarding the capabilities of the Yemeni people.

In a statement issued Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Egypt affirmed that presenting comprehensive solutions that address the root causes of the crisis is the only way to end the conflict and achieve the aspirations of the Yemeni people for security, stability and development.

It stressed the importance of prioritizing the language of dialogue and reason, avoiding any unilateral measures that threaten security and stability, and supporting efforts aimed at de-escalation.

Egypt also reaffirmed its continued efforts to push toward reaching a comprehensive and sustainable political settlement to the Yemeni crisis through ongoing communication with all relevant parties, based on national dialogue among all components of the Yemeni people within a framework of consensus, respect for Yemeni national constants, and in a manner that contributes to strengthening unity of position, protecting Arab national security, and consolidating security and stability in the region.

The statement indicated that the Arab Republic of Egypt is closely following recent developments on the Yemeni scene and expresses its deep concern over the risks of potential escalation and its repercussions on Yemen’s security and stability and the possible consequences that may affect the security of the entire region.
