Hodeidah Governor Discusses Support for Health Sector with Médecins Sans Frontières

HODEIDAH – SABA
The Governor of Hodeidah Dr. Al-Hassan Taher discussed Monday with a delegation from Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) support for the health sector in the governorate and the nature of humanitarian interventions in the liberated areas.

The meeting, attended by the Director of the Governorate Health Office Dr. Ali al-Ahdal and the Director General of Al-Khokha District Salem Uliyan, reviewed the organization’s plans to support the Maternity and Childhood Center in the city of al-Khokha.

This support aims to enhance the efficiency of medical services provided to citizens and ease the pressure on health facilities amid existing challenges.

Governor Taher emphasized that partnership with international organizations represents a fundamental pillar for strengthening the stability of the health sector, praising the humanitarian role played by Médecins Sans Frontières in supporting health facilities and providing care to the most vulnerable groups in impacted areas.

For its part, the delegation from Médecins Sans Frontières affirmed the organization’s readiness to provide support in accordance with urgent priorities and needs, stressing the importance of continuous coordination with local authorities to improve the level of health services in the governorate.
