Vice Minister of Water and Environment Mujahid bin Afrar met Thursday in the Saudi city of Jeddah with the Secretary-General of the Regional Organization for the Conservation of the Environment of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden (PERSGA) Dr. Ziad Abu Ghararah.
During the meeting, the two parties reviewed environmental issues of common interest and ways to enhance cooperation in the fields of marine environmental protection and water resource management.
They noted the importance of intensifying regional efforts to address the environmental challenges facing the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, emphasizing their commitment to aligning visions and supporting joint action among member states.
The Vice Minister stressed the importance of strengthening regional cooperation in protecting the marine environment, pointing out Yemen’s commitment to working jointly with the organization to confront environmental challenges.
For his part, the Secretary-General of PERSGA expressed his appreciation for Yemen’s role and its efforts in protecting the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, noting that the organization continues to support projects and programs that serve environmental protection in the region.
