[12/11/2025 03:34]

RIYADH – SABA
His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, received Wednesday the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to Yemen Zhao Cheng.

The meeting discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation between the two friendly countries in the economic, security and humanitarian fields.

During the meeting, the President expressed Yemen’s pride in its historic friendship with the People’s Republic of China and appreciated China’s continued support for the Yemeni people and their aspirations for security, stability and peace.

The discussions also touched on the latest domestic developments and the government’s ongoing efforts to stimulate the national economy, improve basic services and strengthen security and stability amid continued threats posed by the terrorist Houthi militia and allied criminal organizations.

The meeting further reviewed the recent report of the UN Security Council’s Panel of Experts, which highlighted the escalation of arms smuggling networks supplying the terrorist Houthi militia through the Red Sea and the Horn of Africa and the implications of these activities for international peace and security.

The President emphasized the importance of close coordination between the two friendly countries to deter common threats and to expand cooperation, particularly in energy projects, infrastructure, ports, and the development of Yemen’s Coast Guard capabilities—contributing to the protection of international shipping lanes and vital global trade interests.

For his part, the Chinese diplomat affirmed his country’s support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government and expressed China’s readiness to strengthen economic and development cooperation across various fields.
