During the meeting, the two parties discussed ways to enhance joint coordination between the Ministry of Health and international organizations working in the health field, especially humanitarian partners, in a way that contributes to unifying efforts and directing resources towards actual health priorities in accordance with field needs and the Ministry's strategic plan.
The Minister of Health stressed the importance of strengthening coordination mechanisms between various international and national components working in the health sector to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of interventions. Stressing the need to unify visions and ideas that define health work priorities and are consistent with the plans of the government and the Ministry of Health.
He pointed out that the Ministry is working hard to direct support towards the areas most in need, especially remote areas affected by conflicts and health and humanitarian disasters.
He stressed that the equitable distribution of health interventions represents a fundamental pillar in achieving health equity and improving the level of services.
Minister Buhybeh touched on the ongoing arrangements for holding the health donors' conference in the temporary capital, Aden, explaining that the conference represents a strategic opportunity to attract funding and coordinate efforts between donors and development partners in the health field, which contributes to advancing health infrastructure and strengthening the institutional capacities of the Ministry of Health and its affiliated sectors.
He also called on humanitarian partners to focus on building national capacities and supporting the sustainability of health projects instead of limiting them to short-term emergency interventions.
He pointed out that the ministry seeks, through its partnerships with international organizations, to achieve a shift from humanitarian response to sustainable health development.
For his part, O'Leary appreciated the Ministry of Health's continuous cooperation and facilitations of the activities of the Health Bloc and all international partners working within the Health Bloc system.
He confirmed that the Health Bloc will continue to support the Ministry of Health in the areas of strategic planning and needs assessment, in addition to providing technical support to develop the capabilities of national cadres.
