Maj. General al-Zubaidi confers with U.S. Ambassador over reforms program, economic recovery plan

The Member of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) Maj. General Aidaroos al-Zubaidi held discussions via videoconferencing today, Monday, with the Ambassador of the United States to the Republic of Yemen Steven Fagin over humanitarian situations in Yemen, ways to join efforts to ease the humanitarian suffering the Yemeni people have been experiencing, underway efforts to address the delay of salaries pay and to provide the needed fuels to operate electricity stations in the temporary capital Aden and the government-held governorates.

The conversations also touched on the PLC's efforts to go on the reforms program and economic recovery plan and the ways to coordinate local and central efforts to improve revenues, ensure depositing them in the Central Bank of Yemen.

They also discussed what has been done to coordinate the positions within the PLC and to cement its coherence. Regarding this matter, Maj. General al-Zubaidi appreciated the role of the United States and the quartet countries sponsoring the PLC and the Yemeni people's struggle for eliminating the terrorist Houthi militias.

Al-Zubaidi restated that the PLC and the government are denouncing the arbitrary arrests by the terrorist Houthi militias against dozens of the UN agencies' employees who operate in the humanitarian field in Sana'a and the detention of the U.S. embassy's staff.

The American Ambassador reiterated his administration's support for the PLC, the government and underway efforts to make genuine reforms in the state's institutions so that the government can be capable to do its jobs.
