BEIRUT - SABA
Yemen's Ambassador to Lebanon Abdullah al-Duais met Wednesday with the Director of Political and Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in the sisterly Lebanese Republic, Ibrahim Assaf.
During the meeting, aspects of cooperation and coordination between the two brotherly countries in various fields were discussed in order to achieve the common interests of the two brotherly peoples.
Ambassador al-Duais briefed the Lebanese official on the latest developments and situations in Yemen and the Yemeni government's position seeking to restore the state and overthrow the coup by ensuring a lasting and just peace based on local, regional and international references, led by Resolution 2216.
He pointed out that the terrorist Houthi militia supported by the Iranian regime met all initiatives with intransigence and rejection.
He pointed out that the international community has come to realize that the Houthi militias pose a threat not only to Yemen and neighboring countries, but also globally by threatening international navigation in the most important waterways in Bab al-Mandab.
For his part, the Lebanese official affirmed the Lebanese government's support for the Yemeni government and all the steps it is taking to achieve security and stability.
