Yemen attended a meeting of directors of Arab Civil Affairs and Nationality departments in Baghdad. Yemen's delegation was led by Major General Dr. Mohammed Baharoon, Head of Yemen's Civil Affairs Authority.
The meeting, hosted by the Arab Interior Ministers Council, aimed to exchange experiences and best practices among Arab states to enhance cooperation in civil affairs, nationality, and passports.
Dr. Baharoon highlighted Yemen's efforts to modernize identity systems, including launching a digital national identity card with smart chips and biometric features, aligned with international ISO standards.
He noted Yemen's adoption of digital transformation as a strategic choice, launching smart card and electronic civil registry projects to complete citizens' data, enhancing government systems' effectiveness
