RIYADH-SABA
The Member of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) met today, Sunday, with the Ambassador of the United States to the Republic of Yemen Steven Fagin.
They discussed a range of topical issues including Yemen-American cooperation, political and economic developments in our country and joint efforts to combat terrorism and marine piracy in the Red Sea as well as the terrorist Houthi militias' attacks on commercial ships and international waterways.
Mujalli updated Fagin on the PLC's efforts to support the government headed by the Prime Minister Salem bin Braik and the Central Bank of Yemen (CBY) to maintain the improvement in the national currency exchange rate and implement the road map of the economic and financial reforms.
He indicated that the government is keenly seeking to get solutions to oil exports in order to ease the suffering of the Yemeni people.
Mujalli condemned the persistence of the Zionist brutal war on the Palestinian people in Gaza, demolishing civilians houses, killing children, women and elderly.
He noted that the terrorist Houthi militias are similar to the Zionist entity in their crimes against the innocents and looting properties.
The American Ambassador confirmed the continuation of his administration to the PLC and the government to manage the economic challenges, protect waterways, confront Houthi militias' threats and control smuggling of Iranian weapons and drugs to the militias-controlled regions.
Mr. Fagin stressed that the Yemeni government is a key partner in dealing with these challenges and it must be supported to do its job successfully.
