Trade Minister discusses with EU officials joint cooperation

The Minister of Industry and Trade Mohamed al-Ashwal held talks today, Wednesday, in the temporary capital Aden, with the Advisor to the Head of the Cooperation Department in the European Union (EU) Post Molman over cooperation joint and coordination in implementing developmental and economic projects in several Yemeni governorates.

The conversations focused on the ongoing coordination between the Ministry and the Local Authorities to ease procedures related to implementing EU-funded projects, ensuring that aid reaches its deserving recipients and enhancing the direct impact on the lives of citizens.

The Minister underlining the importance of establishing strategic and permanent partnership between the Yemeni and government and the EU, citing the Ministry's ongoing efforts to develop national products.

He also called for enhancing cooperation and direct coordination between the ministry and the European Union to ensure the effective implementation of development programs,

The EU's official confirmed the EU's continued support for Yemen, noting that the EU has a specialized program to support entrepreneurs in Yemen, along with a specific interest in enhancing local industry and expanding export markets in several Yemeni governorates.

He underscored the need to enhance joint coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries, as well as supporting local authorities in implementing projects and achieving sustainable outcomes on the ground.
