Yemen discusses with the Arab Mining Organization support for industrial development

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Trade for the Industrial Sector Mohammed Ayedh discussed Saturday with the Director General of the Arab Organization for Industrial Development, Standardization and Mining, Engineer Adel Al-Saqr enhancing cooperation and joint coordination.

They discussed support to industrial development efforts, and strengthen integration and partnership opportunities between Yemen and the organization, contributing to the advancement of the industrial sector and the development of its capabilities.

During the meeting, held on the sidelines of his participation in the fifth meeting of the Advisory Committee for Industrial Development in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, the Undersecretary emphasized the Yemeni government's commitment to benefiting from the expertise and programs of the Arab Organization for Industrial Development, Standardization and Mining in updating industry, developing quality standardization infrastructure, and enhancing innovation and scientific research.

He pointed out that the exceptional circumstances Yemen is experiencing require activating frameworks for joint Arab cooperation to support the needs of the industrial sector and the national economy.

Both parties confirmed the importance of enhancing communication and coordination channels, and identifying priorities for future cooperation, especially in the areas of industrial transformation, adopting modern technology, and developing national competencies to serve development plans in Yemen and the Arab countries.

For his part, the Director General of the Arab Organization for Industrial Development, Standardization, and Mining confirmed the organization’s readiness to continue providing technical support, training programs, and joint projects, which would bolster Yemen’s presence in the Arab industrial work system.
