MARIB – SABA
Saba satellite channel launched its experimental broadcast from the city of Marib in Tuesday as the first government channel affiliated with the General Corporation for Radio and Television and the Ministry of Information, with its main headquarters in the governorate.
The launch of the channel comes at an exceptional stage in the country's history to be a comprehensive national platform that touches on citizens' issues, conveys their concerns and needs, and provides comprehensive community service that reaches various governorates, north, south, east and west.
The head of the Saba Channel Sector, Khaled Ulayan confirmed that the experimental broadcast represents the result of continuous efforts that continued for years, despite the financial and technical challenges that the channel faced under the circumstances of the war.
He pointed out that the channel was created to be an honest voice close to the field, and a front for the national media that reflects Yemen's true image to the world, with its ancient civilization, diverse culture, and promising human potential.
Ulayan explained that the channel has completed preparing its engineering and technical infrastructure according to high professional standards in cooperation with specialized Arab companies, and work has been done on a modern visual and audio identity capable of competing in the Arab space.
He also pointed out that the launch from Marib was a national decision that derives its roots from a cultural and historical depth linked to the Kingdom of Sheba and the great Ma'rib Dam.
Saba Channel will pay special attention to qualifying and training young people, led by the people of Ma'rib Governorate and graduates of the region's university, in commitment to its social and national role, he said.
Ulayan concluded his speech by emphasizing that the “Saba” channel is not just a digital addition to the media space, but rather a comprehensive national project that opens its windows to art, poetry, literature and culture, gives space to women and children, celebrates heritage and history, and contributes to enhancing national awareness.
