A coordinating meeting was held in Aden, attended by 50 cadres representing directors of health offices, reproductive health, and education in the targeted governorates, as well as representatives from various ministries.
The meeting discussed ongoing preparations for the second round of the campaign to promote maternal and newborn health, scheduled to take place from July 26 to 31.
The campaign, supported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), aims to improve maternal and child health indicators, which are among the strategic priorities of the health sector.
The meeting reviewed performance indicators, implementation mechanisms, and tasks of field teams, as well as a follow-up and evaluation plan.
The Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Health for Population Sector, Dr. Salem Al-Shabahi, emphasized the importance of implementing the campaign, particularly in light of the health challenges facing mothers and newborns in the country.
