President Putin hosts a lunch in honor of Chairman of Presidential Leadership Council

His Excellency President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation hosted a luncheon in honor of His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi and the accompanying delegation.

The luncheon was attended by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut, Minister of Energy Sergey Tsivilev, Central Bank Governor Elvira Nabiullina and several officials from both sides
President Putin reiterated his warm welcome to the Chairman of the PLC and the accompanying delegation, affirming the depth of historical relations between the two countries and their friendly peoples.

The Russian president pointed to the remarkable development in the trade and economic relations between Russia and Yemen, expressing his hope to move forward with the promising bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries.

The Chairman of the PLC renewed his expression of pleasure at meeting President Putin and senior Russian officials, voicing thanks for the warm welcome and generous hospitality.

President al-Alimi expressed, on behalf of himself and the members of the PLC and the government, his great appreciation for the Russian facilitation offered to Yemeni nationals residing and studying in the Russian Federation, saying that he gave his directives to the government to prepare well for the commemoration of the centenary of the establishment of relations between the two friendly countries.

The Chairman of the PLC referred to many living examples of the strength of Yemeni-Russian friendship, including hospitals, universities, and ports that were built during the Soviet era.

The two sides touched upon the course of communications and bilateral understandings between the relevant economic and service sectors and authorities in both countries, and ways to enhance and expand them in various fields.

They also confirmed the continuation of consultations, expediting the convening of the joint ministerial committee, and exchanging visits and expertise at all levels.
