Parliament Speaker meets with Japanese Ambassador to Yemen

The Speaker of Parliament Sultan al-Barakani met today, Monday, with the Japanese Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Yoneichi Nakashima.
They conferred over bilateral relations, the developments in the Yemeni arena, economic hardships and the humanitarian situations amid current circumstances.
al-Barakani talked about the situations in our country, citing the huge economic challenges the country has been going through due to the practices of the Iranian regime backed terrorist Houthi militias.
He stated that the internationally recognized government have repeatedly sought to bring peace through negotiations with the Houthis and it made great efforts to get peaceful solutions but the Houthis' intransigence and their repeated breach of the agreements did help to reach agreement to achieve security and stability.
The Speaker of Parliament highly praised the Japanese significant contribution to the humanitarian, relief and development actions in Yemen, deeply appreciating Tokyo's steadfast stance in support of the internationally recognized government against the Houthis' coup d'état.
The Japanese Ambassador confirmed his country's support for the internationally recognized Yemeni government and the Yemeni people amid current circumstances.
He also stated that Japan will make further efforts to provide the humanitarian aids to alleviate the Yemeni people's suffering.
