Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Dr. Mansour Bajash discussed Wednesday with the Head of the Middle East and North Africa Department at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Maurizio Gherganti the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, which date back to 1900, and ways to enhance cooperation.
The meeting, attended by the non-resident Italian Ambassador to Yemen, Carlo Baldotchi, also discussed the developments in the political and security situation in Yemen and the region, and the impact of Houthi terrorist threats on international shipping lines in the Red Sea.
The Deputy Foreign Minister expressed the Yemeni government's appreciation for the Italian position supporting the Presidential Leadership Council, led by President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi and the Yemeni government in their battle to restore the state against the Houthi militia.
