The head of Customs Authority, Abdulhakeem Al-Qubati, met with the Deputy Representative of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Yemen, Marat Atamuradov, to discuss enhancing cooperation and coordination.
The meeting focused on customs exemptions for humanitarian aid, emphasizing the need for swift clearance of shipments to support the Yemeni people. Al- Qubati reaffirmed the Customs Authority's commitment to providing all necessary facilitation to UNHCR, including direct release of relief shipments.
The two sides also discussed implementing a "single window" system to streamline customs procedures for international organizations. Atamuradov expressed appreciation for the Customs Authority's support and emphasized the importance of cooperation in enhancing humanitarian programs in Yemen.
