The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced today the designation of 21 individuals and entities, as well as the identification of one vessel, on the sanctions list for their involvement in transporting petroleum products, purchasing weapons and equipment and providing financial services to the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias.

President al-Alimi praises Dutch contribution to development drive

RIYADH - SABA
His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) received the Ambassador of the Royal Netherlands to the Republic of Yemen Jennette Seppen.

Bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries was key focus of the conversations.

President al-Alimi voiced his great gratitude to the government of the Netherlands for its supportive stances in support of the Yemeni government and people, deeply appreciating Dutch significant interventions and contribution to the development process and humanitarian actions in Yemen.

The President highlighted the repercussions of the Houthi militias' terrorist threats to the maritime shipping lanes and the international security and peace, besides the grave violations of human rights.

The Chairman of the PLC underscored the importance of the Dutch active role in joining the international efforts alongside the Yemeni people, its official leadership.

He also stated that it is very important for the European countries to join the punitive measures against the terrorist Houthi militias.
