The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced today the designation of 21 individuals and entities, as well as the identification of one vessel, on the sanctions list for their involvement in transporting petroleum products, purchasing weapons and equipment and providing financial services to the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias.

Vice FM, French official discuss bilateral relations, cooperation

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Mustafa Noaman held talks today, Tuesday, in Paris with the Director of the Middle East and North Africa Department at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs Romaric Roygenan on bilateral relations and cooperation between the two friendly countries.

The conversations also touched on the American designation of the Houthi militias as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) due to the militias' threat to regional and international peace and security.

Noaman sought for resuming the French scholarships program for the Yemeni students. He highlighted the need of these opportunities to contribute toward building national cadres capacities and strengthening cultural and scientific relations between the two countries.

The Deputy Foreign Minister affirmed the Yemeni government's support for all international efforts aimed at achieving peace and stability, blaming the Houthis militias for blocking peace proposals and efforts.

He cited the efforts made by the Yemeni government and the concessions it has offered to revive the political process.
