His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) along with the Member of the PLC Sultan al-Arada arrived today, Monday, in Cairo to contribute to the deliberations of the Emergency Arab Summit scheduled to start tomorrow Tuesday.
The Egyptian Minister of Labour Mohammed Jubran, Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to the Arab Republic of Egypt Khaled, Acting Permanent Representative of Yemen to the Arab League Dr. Ali Mossa welcomed President al-Almi at Cairo Airport.
The President is set to deliver a speech at the Arab Summit and to hold discussions with his counterparts of Arab leaders to update them on the developments in the Yemeni national scene.
In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) His Excellency expressed his great gratitude to the brothers in the Arab Republic of Egypt led by His Excellency the President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi for the call to convene this Arab Summit which held at extremely critical political circumstances.
Al-Alimi highly praised the leading role of the Arab Republic of Egypt in mobilizing Arab solidarity to support the Palestinian people's legitimate struggle and right to establish its independent state with full sovereignty.
The Chairman of the PLC stated that he is confident that the Cairo Summit will contribute to achieve its desirable objectives and produce an inclusive Arab approach to deal with current challenges, including endorsing an inclusive plan to reconstruct Gaza and enhance the Arab States' stance in protecting their national security in its comprehensive concept.
