Liverpool beat Newcastle United in the match that brought them together in the 27th round of the English Premier League, thus strengthening their lead in the league table.

Liverpool's goals were scored by Dominik Szoboszlai in the 11th minute and Alexis Mac Allister in the 63rd minute.

Liverpool raised its score to 67 points at the top of the table, and widened the gap to 13 points over second-placed Arsenal, while Newcastle dropped to sixth place, three points behind fourth-placed Manchester City.
