Yemen foreign minister Dr. Shaya Zindani held discussions with the UN Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen, Julian Harneis here today over ways of enhancing cooperation between the Yemeni government and international organizations working in the humanitarian field.
Minister Zindani expressed his gratitude for the UN's role in alleviating the suffering of the people and stressed the
government's commitment to providing necessary facilities for international organizations to perform their tasks effectively.
He also emphasized the need for the immediate release of employees detained by the Houthi militia and called on the UN and international community to intensify efforts to ensure their release and protection.
The UN Coordinator appreciated the Yemeni government's efforts to end human suffering and pledged to continue international support for the Yemeni people at this critical stage.
