Yemen participates in ministerial meeting of Arab Economic and Social Council in Cairo

Yemen took part in the ministerial meeting of the Economic and Social Council of the League of Arab States in its (115) regular session, in the Egyptian capital, Cairo today.

Yemen's delegation was led by Minister the country's of Industry and Trade Mohammed al-Ashwal.

Minister Al-Ashwal delivered a speech in which he referred to the convening of this session and the series of global and regional developments and changes that the world is witnessing that have changed the features of the world due to natural disasters, crises, and recent important events in the Arab region.

He pointed out the threat to water security facing everyone with the continued attacks launched by the terrorist Houthi militia in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab and its control over the port of Hodeidah, and the major negative effects of that.

He underscored the necessity to brace for the economic and social repercussions in light of the continued challenges facing the Arab region and facing the extremely dangerous and complex regional and international circumstances.
