The Member of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) Major General Aidarous al-Zubaidi met today, Sunday, with the U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Steven Fagin.
They discussed the developments of the humanitarian and political situations amid the exacerbated economic crisis the country has been experiencing.
Al-Zubaidi stressed that it is very important for the PLC and the government to undertake their national responsibility and to deliver on their obligations on top of which to provide basic services, pay salaries and seek for immediate and sustainable solutions to activate the country's economic resources.
The two sides underscored the importance of mobilizing the regional and international support for the PLC in order to improve the deteriorated economic situation in the government-held governorates.
They also emphasized the pressing need for making real and comprehensive reforms in the structure of the government and the governmental institutions including activating the revenues institutions, controlling financial policies and reforming and bolstering the action of the controlling authorities to achieve the economic stability.
