ADEN - SABA
Yemen's government has welcomed the January 22, 2025 decision by the White House decision which designates the Houthis as a foreign terrorist organization FTO.
Yemen's foreign ministry said in a statement of which Saba received a copy, "This decision reflects a true understanding of this Iranian-backed group poses to the Yemeni people and regional and international security."
The statement said, "This designation is consistent with the government's long-standing position and repeated calls to label the Houthi militias as a terrorist group, due to the horrific crimes and serious violations they commit against the Yemeni people and the serious threat they pose to regional and international security and peace."
