The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced today the designation of 21 individuals and entities, as well as the identification of one vessel, on the sanctions list for their involvement in transporting petroleum products, purchasing weapons and equipment and providing financial services to the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias.

Al-Mahrami confers with French Ambassador over cooperation to bring peace in Yemen

RIYADH - SABA
The Member of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) Abdul Rahman al-Mahrami held talks today, Monday, with the French Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Katherine Corm Kammoun over bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen them and support the ongoing efforts to achieve peace in Yemen.

They also discussed the developments about the military situations in different fronts and Houthi militias' increasingly growing threats to the international navigation and trade.

Al-Mahrami praised the French steadfast stance in support of Yemen at the humanitarian and political level, voicing his appreciation for France's position against the Houthi militias' attacks on the crucial economic facilities in Yemen.

Al-Mahrami cited the ongoing efforts of the PLC and the government to carry out the economic and financial reforms, combat corruption and improve the basic services. " It is very important for the international community to support these efforts to establish stability in Yemen", he stressed.

The conversations touched on the humanitarian projects the French government carried out in the government-held governorates.

The Member of the PLC called on France and the European Union to increase their support for Yemen through their developmental projects in order to improve the peoples' living condition and allay their suffering due to the war.

The French Ambassador reiterated her country's support for the PLC, the government and the efforts aiming to make, peace re-establish security and stability in Yemen.
