Buoyant Chelsea beat its guest Brentford 2-1 in the sixteenth round of the English Premier League to move within two points behind leaders Liverpool.
Marc Cucurella scored the first goal in the 43rd minute, and in the second half, striker Nicolas Jackson added the second goal for Chelsea in the 80th minute, and Brentford reduced the difference with a goal by its striker Brian Mbomou in the 90th minute. Chelsea raised its score to 34 points in second place, only two points behind Liverpool, the first place, while Brentford's score froze at 23 points in twelfth place.
