Presidential Leadership Council reviews national, regional developments

RIYADH - SABA
The Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) held a meeting today, Sunday, presided over by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, the Chairman of the PLC with the presence of its members Aidarous al-Zubaidi, Tariq Saleh, Abdul Rahman al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, Othman Mujalli and Faraj al-Bahsani.

The meeting, in which Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak was also in presence, devoted to review the developments about political, economic and basic services situations, mainly the developments relating to the fluctuation of the national currency exchange rates and the ongoing efforts to mitigate the humanitarian suffering created by the Iranian regime backed terrorist Houthi militias.

The meeting also discussed the outcomes of the work by the authorized presidential panel to work out a national strategy. The panel chaired by the PLC's member Aidarous al-Zaubaid and it is tasked with addressing the political, economic and military situations in the upcoming period, making appreciate decisions and recommendations about.

The regional developments and their repercussions on the national scene were also touched upon, including the recent developments in Syria, Lebanon and the occupied Palestinian territories, the Houthis' terrorist attacks on the international shipping lanes and their devastating subsequent implications on the food security and international peace and security.

In this context, the PLC congratulates the brotherly Syrian people on toppling the Iranian sponsorship ruling in the Syrian Arab Republic, and the return of Damascus to the Arab circle.

The PLC has confirmed Yemen's iron-clad support for the unity of the Syrian territories, respecting its independence, sovereignty and the will of its people and their right to freedom, change, establishing peace, security and stability.

The PLC also welcomed the outcomes of the Summit of the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, in which the GCC's leaders have confirmed their strong commitment to fully support the PLC to achieve security and stability in Yemen, reach an inclusive political solution in accordance with the GCC's Initiative, its executive mechanisms, outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and the International Security Council resolution 2216, in a manner maintains the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.
