ROME – SABA
Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaya Zindani took part a discussion concerning the Red Sea security and securing strategic checkpoints, within the 10th session of the Rome MED Dialogues being held in the Italian capital.
Zindani laid emphasis on the importance of enhancing regional and international cooperation and supporting the Yemeni government to ensure navigation in the Red Sea, and on taking collective measures to confront the Houthi threat, including preventing arms smuggling, and activating the Security Council's inspection mechanism.
He pointed that the Iranian-backed Houthi militia's threat is no longer specific for Yemen, but a threat to international security and peace altogether including to the freedom of maritime navigation and international commerce.
