The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Shaya Zindani met today with the Head of the United Nations Mission to Support the Hodeidah Agreement (UNMHA), retired Major General Michael Perry.
The Minister was briefed by the UN official on the mission's activities and issues related to its tasks, as well as the alignment of its work with relevant United Nations resolutions.
The Minister addressed the Houthi threats to international navigation, emphasizing the need for firm positions against weapon smuggling to the Houthi militias.
He underscored the importance of the mission's work in supporting the government's efforts to clear the mines that the militias have planted extensively and indiscriminately in Hodeidah.
For his part, the Head of the United Nations Mission expressed his appreciation for the cooperation and support of the government and local authorities in the liberated districts of Hodeidah.
He affirmed the mission's commitment to operate in accordance with its mandate and its readiness to address all challenges and issues in partnership with the Yemeni government.
